Liberty Edge Philosophy

The Liberty Edge Youth Basketball excites kids about the game of basketball while enhancing their fundamental skills and fostering character development. The success of our program is found in the coaching fundamental skills at every level in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie. Our program is a rewarding and challenging experience, which develops basketball skills, self-confidence, self-esteem, promotes a healthier lifestyle and provides players with a mental toughness they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

We use techniques used by players in the highest levels. This includes ball handling, passing, screens, shooting, footwork & agility. We combine the use of drills and one-on-one instruction. We also believe in providing a framework for healthy life-long habits in nutrition and strength training. At the same time we instill principles of teamwork, discipline, competitiveness, dedication, leadership and sportsmanship.

“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around
and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”

~ Michael Jordan

"Marcus was a multi-dimensional versatile star on the collegiate level. He was vital to the success of one of my favorite teams, The Flying Illini of 1989. Marcus has great knowledge of the gameand is a great asset in helping your child develop his/her skills and also learn about the game of life."
